I am offering three levels of novel editing:

Developmental Editing – This is best for those near the beginning of their writing journey. This kind of editing is sometimes called ‘the structural edit’ and will help you make sure that your novel hangs together, there are no major plot holes or continuity errors. My writing courses as highlighted below can be used at the same time as Developmental Editing and gives you the tools to write your next books too!

Copyediting – If you have your second draft completed, it is time for a copyedit. This is an in-depth look at your narrative for all manner of errors, including anything missed from first draft corrections, lapses in tone, form or grammar and spelling mistakes. Copyediting is where the majority of the mistakes are made. Most copyeditors will catch about 80% of the errors in your narrative.

Proofreading – If copyediting catches 80% of your mistakes, proofreading catches 80% of what is left. This level of editing looks for typos or grammar mistakes. Anything structural would need to go back to the copyediting phase. This read is for tone and polish not content. This level of editing is ideal for a PhD thesis and is great for those who have worked on their manuscript or project and are ready for publication. I include line editing in this final stage, where I collaborate with the author to make sure that the final product is as clear accessible as possible.
